Subiaco (sometimes known as Subi) is an inner-western suburb of Perth, Western Australia’s capital. It is located in the City of Subiaco local government region, about 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) west of Perth’s central

Italian Benedictine monks moved in the region around 1851. The monks named the place after Subiaco, Italy, where Benedict of Nursia, the Order of Saint Benedict’s founder, began his mission. Subiaco Oval,
also known as Domain Stadium, Mueller Park, the Regal Theatre, the Subiaco Hotel, the Victorian terraces on Catherine Street, and the Subiaco Arts Centre are among the suburb’s landmarks.
