The suburb now known as Beechboro dates back to 1877, when Henry Brockman divided the land into several large lots. Its name derives from Brockman’s ancestral home in England, which was called Beechborough Park.
Prior to World War II, the area had been subdivided into a number of farmlets, which were run as dairy farms. The name Beechboro is derived from the history of the area’s first European landowner. Henry Brockman
partitioned land in the region around 1892. The Brockmans were well-established proprietors in the Swan River Colony, with substantial estates in England. One of these estates was named Beechboro Park (Kent, England),
and he named his new subdivisions after it.
