Lockridge is a Perth suburb in Western Australia’s Bassendean division and the City of Swan local government region. In 1837, major Western Australian landowner Edward Hamersley purchased Lockridge. The area was named after Lockeridge House, which was erected in 1874 by his son, Samuel. However, residential construction did not begin until 1969, with urban regeneration commencing in the late 1990s. Rosher Park, Kiara College, Lockridge Primary School, and the Alice Daveron Community Centre are all nearby attractions. Swan Valley Nyungah Community was nearby. The suburb has a population of 3,467 people according to the 2016 Australian census. Lockridge is located approximately 12kms from the capital Perth covering an area of 1.466 square kilometres.
